Data methodology and corrections

Kalpway publishes structured data on Indian companies, investors, funding rounds and IPOs. This page explains where that data comes from, how we check it, and how to report a mistake.

Where our data comes from

We rank sources in this order and record which one each data point came from:

  1. Regulatory and official sources: MCA filings, SEBI, NSE and BSE notices, and offer documents (DRHP, RHP, prospectus).
  2. The company or founder: official press releases, investor relations pages and announcements by the company or its founders.
  3. Established business media.
  4. Industry publications and research firms.

We do not copy data from other databases. We may use them to find a lead, then go to the original source.

What the verification labels mean

  • Verified: a member of our team checked the record against a regulatory or company source, on the date shown.
  • Reported: the data comes from a credible source but we have not yet checked it against an official one.
  • Estimated: the figure is calculated or inferred by Kalpway. We say how.
  • Unverified: the record has not been checked. Treat it with care.

Amounts and dates

Amounts are shown in Indian rupees, usually in crore. Where a company announced an amount in another currency, the original amount is shown on the record. Dates follow the source document.

What we do not publish

We do not publish grey market premiums, stock or IPO ratings, or opinions on whether to buy, sell or apply. Kalpway is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst.

Sponsored content

Sponsored articles and reports are always labelled. Sponsors, advertisers and clients have no say over our news coverage or our data.

Corrections

If you see an error, write to us through the contact page with the page link and the correct information, ideally with a source. We check every report, correct confirmed errors and update the record’s “last checked” date.
