MeltPlan Raises $10M in Seed Round Led by Bessemer to Transform AI-Powered Preconstruction Planning

MeltPlan funding news

AI-powered construction tech startup MeltPlan has raised $10 million in seed funding, led by global venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from European investor Noa. This latest round brings MeltPlan’s total funding to $14 million, underscoring growing investor interest in technology that modernizes the traditionally fragmented construction industry.

Founded in 2025 by tech entrepreneur Kanav Hasija — a co-founder of the health tech unicorn Innovaccer — and civil engineer Tanmaya Kala, MeltPlan aims to address one of the most persistent challenges in the $14 trillion global construction sector: inefficient, costly preconstruction planning.

AI Where It Matters Most: Before Construction Begins

Budget overruns, timeline delays, and costly design changes have long plagued construction projects. Industry experts often point to one key reason: decisions made too early with incomplete information. MeltPlan’s solution is a cloud-native AI planning engine that helps project teams simulate and optimize key decisions before ground is broken. By surfacing constraints and trade-offs early — from building codes and cost estimates to scheduling and value analysis — the platform reduces uncertainty and costly rework downstream.

Unlike traditional AI tools derived from generic models, MeltPlan’s system is built specifically for construction and designed to understand real workflows, procurement constraints, regulatory rules, and sequencing logic. According to company insiders, its platform has scored 95% or higher on internal building inspector benchmarks, demonstrating strong domain fluency.

“We believe construction doesn’t fail because teams aren’t capable — it fails because preconstruction decisions are often rushed and opaque. Our AI planning engine ensures stakeholders align before plans are frozen,” said Hasija in a recent interview.

How the Funding Will Be Used

With the new capital, MeltPlan plans to:

  • Accelerate product development by enhancing its AI stack.
  • Expand its engineering and product teams, particularly in India, where much of the technical talent is based.
  • Scale enterprise adoption, extending its platform to new markets outside the U.S., including the Middle East and India.

Currently, MeltPlan is working with enterprise customers such as DPR Construction in California and Innovo Group in the United Arab Emirates, signalling early traction in mission-critical workflows.

Why This Matters

As digital transformation sweeps through sectors from healthcare to finance, the construction industry — one of the world’s largest yet least digitized — stands to benefit enormously from AI innovation. Tools that bring clarity to distributed decision-making and reduce costly change orders can unlock billions in savings and increase productivity across projects of all scales.

With backing from marquee investors and a product built to complement existing planning and execution tools, MeltPlan is betting that intelligent preconstruction planning will become standard practice — potentially reshaping how buildings and infrastructure are designed worldwide.
