Yu Raises ₹55 Crore in Series B Funding to Expand Food and Beverage Portfolio
Yu, a rapidly growing consumer food brand, has raised ₹55 crore (approximately $6.5 million) in its Series B funding round, co-led by prominent investor Ashish Kacholia and the Asian Promoter Group. The company announced several early seed investors have exited with returns exceeding 4x on their original investments.
The fresh capital infusion will expand Yu’s distribution network and strengthen its diverse food portfolio. Additionally, the company aims to develop its newly launched 100% natural fruit juice range further, continuing its commitment to offering products free from concentrates and added sugar.
Founded in 2021 by Bharat Bhalla and Varun Kapur, Yu is an omni-channel consumer brand known for its instant food products, starting with cup noodles and pasta. Over time, the brand has broadened its offerings to include ready-to-cook meals and beverages made from 100% natural ingredients.
Yu’s omni-channel distribution spans more than 7,500 stores across India, and its products are available on various quick-commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto, as well as e-commerce giants like Amazon, Flipkart Grocery, and Dmart Ready. The brand also serves the institutional market with partnerships in the airline sector, including Akasa Air and SpiceJet. Recently, Yu expanded internationally, securing a retail presence in over 2,000 stores in South Africa.
With the latest funding, Yu is well-positioned to scale up its operations and continue innovating in the food and beverage sector, offering convenience and quality to its customers.
