Airbound Secures $1.7 Million Seed Funding to Transform Drone Logistics

Airbound Funding News

Bengaluru-based drone technology startup Airbound has raised $1.7 million in seed funding, led by Lightspeed. Additional backing comes from gradCapital and prominent angel investors. Following an earlier $50.1K funding round, this fresh capital will propel Airbound’s R&D efforts, as it initially focuses on medical supply logistics between health centers and testing labs.

Founded in 2020 by Naman Pushp, Airbound aims to disrupt last-mile delivery with its proprietary Tailsitter Rotor Technology (TRT). The lightweight drones, designed with a blended wing body, are three times lighter and four times more aerodynamically efficient than traditional models. Advanced carbon fibre manufacturing techniques have reduced the airframe weight to 400 grams, ensuring safer and more cost-effective operations.

With its innovative approach, Airbound is addressing logistical challenges and setting a benchmark for efficiency and scalability in the drone delivery ecosystem.
