Infosys-Backed 4baseCare Secures ₹128 Cr to Expand Precision Cancer Diagnostics Globally
India’s Health Technology ecosystem is continuing to garner investor confidence as precision oncology startup 4baseCare has closed a total funding of ₹128 crore to support its global expansion strategy and develop advanced cancer diagnostics using AI and genomics.
The current funding is comprised of an upto ₹38 crore top-up round of backing from growX Ventures, Infosys and other continuing investors, bringing the company’s total funds raised to ₹128 crore. The new funding is expected to speed up growth internationally and increase access to personalized cancer care.
Launched in 2018, Bengaluru-based 4baseCare is focused on the growing field of precision oncology using genomic science, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence to provide patients with personalized cancer diagnoses and treatment paths. The company uses population-relevant clinico-genomic intelligence to help improve outcomes for cancer patients.
A large portion of the new funds will be used to enhance 4baseCare’s genomics laboratory network and develop its AI-enabled oncology platform. The company expects to expand its international footprint and make advanced cancer testing more accessible.
One of the key developments in the field of Healthcare is Precision Oncology, a concept that has become popular as an alternative to traditional approaches to treatment that were based on a ‘one-size-fits-all’ model of care. Genomic profiling and the use of AI-based insights have enabled the development of personalised, targeted treatment plans that consider the unique characteristics of each individual patient.
4baseCare’s growth trajectory is on the rise, having increased momentum in recent years. Previous rounds of funding allowed for expansion into both domestic and international markets in multiple regions such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Central Asia. In addition to supporting this growth, 4baseCare has invested heavily into developing clinical decision support capabilities based on AI technology to provide data-driven recommendations to oncologists.
The most recent round of funding highlights a growing interest among investors in innovating within the Indian healthcare sector, particularly for startups that are integrating artificial intelligence and genomics with specialised forms of medical care. As the global demand for precision diagnostics continues to increase, companies such as 4baseCare are working towards establishing India as a leader in the development of next generation cancer treatment technologies.
With the company receiving new funding and accelerating its international ambitions, 4baseCare is positioning itself to continue driving growth in the area of global precision oncology.
